Job Title:
Our client is looking for an experienced Legal Administrative
Assistant with a background in supporting class and collective
actions, as well as employment/wage and hour claims. The ideal
candidate will be adept at handling administrative tasks,
coordinating case management, and ensuring smooth operation of
legal processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Administrative Support:
* Provide administrative support to attorneys and paralegals
specializing in class and collective actions and employment/wage
and hour claims.
* Manage and prioritize incoming correspondence, including
emails, phone calls, and mail.
* Schedule and coordinate meetings, depositions, court
appearances, and client consultations.
* Maintain organized and up-to-date case files, both electronic
and physical.
* Case Management:
* Assist in the preparation and filing of legal documents,
including complaints, motions, and discovery requests.
* Track case deadlines and ensure timely submission of documents
and filings.
* Prepare and organize discovery materials, including document
production and responses to discovery requests.
* Coordinate with clients, experts, and opposing counsel
regarding case-related matters.
* Document Preparation:
* Draft and proofread correspondence, legal documents, and
reports.
* Prepare and format documents for court submission and other
legal proceedings.
* Assist in the preparation of trial exhibits, witness lists, and
other trial-related materials.
* Client and Witness Interaction:
* Assist with client onboarding, including collecting and
organizing initial documentation.
* Communicate with clients and witnesses to schedule interviews,
depositions, and other case-related activities.
* Prepare clients for meetings, depositions, and court
appearances.
* Administrative Tasks:
* Maintain and update case management systems and databases.
* Handle billing and expense reporting related to case work.
* Perform general office duties, including filing, copying,
scanning, and faxing.
Qualifications:
* Education:
* Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Business
Administration, or a related field preferred.
* Experience:
* Minimum of 3 years of experience as a legal administrative
assistant, with a focus on class and collective actions and
employment/wage and hour claims.
* Familiarity with legal terminology, procedures, and court rules
relevant to employment law.
