Job Description:
The Payroll Accountant will help optimize our payroll processes
using UKG and ensure they are efficient and fully compliant with
government regulations. In addition to payroll processing, the
Payroll Accountant will be responsible for payroll
reconciliations, system maintenance and handling various ad hoc
analytical requests. The ideal candidate will be a methodical,
self-motivated, coachable team player with a strong attention to
and deep commitment to delivering quality work.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Participate in payroll processing to ensure timely compliant
and accurate processing of payroll transactions, including
salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
* Prepare and maintain detailed, accurate records and reports of
payroll transactions
* Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage,
and hour laws as well as adherence to industry best practices
* Assist with the facilitation of audits by fulfilling audit
requests with substantiated records and documentation
* Identify opportunities for enhancing payroll systems and
procedures, recommending and implementing updates as needed
* Perform additional tasks as required to support the payroll
operation
* Prepare payroll and compensation-related journal entries and
accruals
* Assist in the preparation of year-end tax forms ensuring
accuracy and compliance
* Collaborate with leadership and other stakeholders to
effectively address and fulfill all payroll related needs
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a relevant field
* 3+ years’ related experience required, including payroll
processing
* Extensive knowledge of payroll functions, including:
* Payroll tax return and general ledger reconciliations
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically
Excel (Pivot tables and V-lookups)
* Strong proficiency in Ultipro/UKG/Kronos payroll software
* Payroll internal controls
* Benefit taxation implications and reporting
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent customer service skills
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
