Critical Notes:

Perfect Candidate: We need a candidate who has experience
interviewing candidates to assess matching skills and knowledge
to the job description needs. A lot of candidates haven’t done
interviews to assess qualifications but would review resumes,
then push them forward to a manager and the manager would
interview. Qualifying a candidate’s skill set is a priority.

We would like to find someone who has worked in an industrial
setting (i.e. steel, automotive or manufacturing etc.).

What we are not looking for:

Executive level recruiting, because they won’t be doing that
here. It’s great if they have hourly hiring experience, but
salaried/exempt individual contributor hiring experience will be
the primary focus of this position. We aren’t interested in
candidates who see this position as a brief stepping stone and
are more interested in other HR roles. We need someone who wants
to develop to a senior talent role.

Workflow at a Glance:

The request comes in for an opening via a form, we then assign it
to a team member based on type of position and area of focus.
That talent partner reaches out to the manager to start the
process of confirming their needs and determining the best job
description for this purpose. Then they will post the job in our
system, review resumes and assess candidates, sometimes
discussing the qualified candidates with the manager first to
determine who the talent partner will phone interview, but
sometimes they make that determination immediately without
needing to confirm with the hiring manager.

Candidates should have strong communication skills to interact
with a variety of resources and position levels. We phone screen
all candidates we believe may be a match, and then schedule an
interview for a manager if they agree with us on recommendations
after seeing our notes. This person needs to be comfortable to
push managers to make decisions in a professional manner and
report up on statuses of positions to executive leadership
monthly. They will make offers, and support onboarding steps. We
use a lot of systems here to talk to each other, so this hire
can’t be afraid of technology or having to enter information in
various platforms. We also hire international candidates to work
at our site from other AM sites around the globe, so we want
someone who isn’t afraid of learning this process if they don’t
know it yet.

The Talent Partner will support talent acquisition goals that
align with the organization’s mission, through
cross-collaboration with internal teams, leadership, external
organizations, and community resources to recruit, assess, hire,
and retain top-tier candidates. The Talent Partner will utilize
talent tracking platforms and tools, as well as proactively
exploring and engaging with additional sourcing opportunities to
improve diverse candidate flow. The Talent Partner will also
support workforce development initiatives and engage in brand
awareness events and activities.
