The Technology Manager is responsible for coordinating the work
of the IT and DEV teams, including part-time and contract roles.
This individual will oversee all technology used by the
organization, including personal computers, public and private
websites, network, cloud services, software, and internally
written code. The IT and DEV teams are service providers to the
rest of the organization, with the goal of ensuring that their
use of technology does not hinder the operations of the company,
but rather is an asset and a good experience for both customers
and employees. This role has a growth path to Vice President of
Technology.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
* 5-10 years’ experience in information systems technology
management.
* 3+ years’ experience leading technology teams.
* Experience with Linux and/or Windows Server administration.
* Experience with cloud platforms including AWS and Google Cloud.
* Specific language/framework experience preferred: HTML, PHP,
Bootstrap/jQuery, WordPress, SQL
* Experience with Agile software development methodologies
preferred.
* Experience with help desk ticketing systems and IT asset
management preferred.
* Certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, or CompTIA Network+
preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Hires, develops, and mentors direct reports, and identifies
areas of opportunity.
* Provides constructive and timely feedback and performance
evaluations to direct reports and handles discipline and
termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
* Consults and coordinates with the Labs team in efforts to
expand and grow internal and public benchmarking and performance
analysis tools.
* Oversees the Product Owner program.
* Facilitates escalations from the Technical Program Manager and
informs their direct managers of their performance.
* Coordinates work for part-time IT contributors within the
company, establishes and enforces SLAs, and keeps their direct
managers informed of their performance.
* Identifies opportunities for interested employees to contribute
to lightweight programming projects on a part-time basis.
Provides coaching, sets processes and expectations, allows code
pull requests, and reviews their work.
* Understands and balances the time and primary responsibilities
of part-time IT and DEV contributors, with company IT and
development needs.
* Identifies IT and DEV contracting needs. Works with the
President or Technical Program Manager to source contractors,
coordinate projects, and assess quality of work and performance.
* Consistently meets project deadlines by successfully
performing, managing, and delegating work to the IT and DEV
teams.
* Facilitates bi-weekly sprint planning and weekly standup
meetings.
* Collaborates with the President to develop and meet company IT
and software development goals.
* Establishes IT budgets, ensures cost-effectiveness of licensing
structures, submits and reports IT expenses, and performs budget
reviews with Controller.
* Administers and maintains the company’s IT infrastructure,
including hardware, software, networks, and computers.
* Works with IT staff to troubleshoot and resolve issues with IT
systems, including hardware malfunctions, software bugs, and
network failures.
* Develops, tests, and deploys new software solutions in
accordance with company needs and project requirements.
* Works with the integration team to develop and maintain
technology for operating system imaging and testing of customer
PCs.
* Creates and maintains documentation for IT systems and software
projects.
* Coordinates with external vendors and service providers to
ensure continued IT service operation.
* Ensures all IT systems are secure, protecting company and
customer data from potential breaches.
* Implements software and system updates and upgrades as needed.
* Provides technical training to staff members as needed.
* Collaborates with other divisions and departments to carry out
the organization’s goals and objectives.
* Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes,
technologies, and systems to improve and streamline
organizational processes and use of resources and materials.
* Develops operations KPIs, puts in place measurement
capabilities, and drives accountability to their improvement.
* Presents periodic performance reports and metrics to the
company President and other leadership.
