Job Description:
AMS Staffing, Inc. is seeking a skilled Litigation Attorney to
join one of its clients in its asbestos practice. The ideal
candidate will have at least 5+ years of experience handling
asbestos litigation and/or toxic torts. While prior experience in
asbestos, toxic tort, product liability, and personal injury
defense is a plus, it’s not a strict requirement. This position
may sit in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Omaha, or Irvine.
Required Skills and Abilities:
* Prior experience managing an asbestos docket at a reputable
firm (Defense or Plaintiff)
* Ability to manage day to day activities (taking depositions,
drafting motions, communicating with experts, communicating with
opposing counsel, etc.)
* Strong oral and written communication abilities
* Strategic thinker with excellent analytical skills
* Proficient in legal research, writing, and addressing complex
litigation issues, including motions to dismiss, summary
judgments, and appeals in both state and federal courts
* Self-driven with a strong work ethic and the motivation to help
expand a growing legal practice
* Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team
setting
* Open to remote mentorship and guidance from attorneys in
different offices
* Committed to achieving excellent outcomes for firm clients
Job Specific Duties and requirements:
* 1800 hour billable requirement
* Ability to travel 25-30% of the time
* Ability to manage a docket from inception to trial
* Ability to effectively collaborate with other offices/team
members in different time zones.
Education and Experience:
* Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school is
required.
* Must be admitted to the State Bar you plan to reside in and in
good standing.
* A minimum of six years of civil litigation experience is
necessary, including courtroom and trial work. Preference will be
given to candidates with experience in asbestos, toxic tort,
product liability, or personal injury defense.
