JOB DESCRIPTION

Experience Required: Minimum of three years legal experience,
ideally with a background in public agency representation.

Responsibilities:

Ideal candidates should have experience in three or more of these
areas of responsibility.

* Provide legal counsel on education law, employment disputes,
and governance matters including employee discipline, workplace
investigations, and ADA accommodations.
* Advise clients on business operations, facilities management,
real estate, and energy matters.
* Represent clients in all aspects of litigation, mediation, and
arbitration in both federal and state courts, as well as
administrative hearings. Trial experience preferred.
* Assist with collective bargaining and labor relations for
school employees.
* Act as bond counsel for tax-exempt debt and other financing for
capital projects.
* Handle special education law matters, including Individualized
Education Programs (IEPs), Section 504 meetings, and compliance
complaints.
* Address student-related legal issues such as First Amendment
concerns, FERPA, student discipline, and conduct hearings.

Qualifications:

* Juris Doctor degree from accredited law school.
* Member in good standing of the California State Bar.
* Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
* Knowledge of California public agency and education laws a
plus.
