Job Description:

A well-established Miami civil litigation defense firm is seeking
an experienced Attorney to join its litigation team. This
position is ideal for an attorney with 3–5+ years of Florida
litigation experience, including commercial litigation and
third-party defense work. The ideal candidate will have strong
case management skills, excellent legal writing ability, and the
confidence to handle matters from early investigation through
discovery, motion practice, negotiations, hearings, trial
preparation, and client reporting. This role offers the
opportunity to work on a variety of civil defense matters in a
professional, team-oriented law firm environment.

Responsibilities

* Manage a caseload involving commercial litigation, third-party
defense, and general civil litigation defense matters
* Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, memoranda, correspondence,
and case reports
* Conduct legal research and prepare clear, persuasive written
analysis
* Handle discovery, depositions, hearings, mediations, and court
appearances
* Evaluate claims, liability, damages, and litigation strategy
* Communicate regularly with clients, carriers, opposing counsel,
experts, and court personnel
* Assist with trial preparation and support cases through
resolution
* Maintain organized files, deadlines, and case strategy plans
* Provide timely updates and reporting to clients

Qualifications

* Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
* Active Florida Bar license in good standing
* 3–5+ years of litigation experience in Florida
* Experience with commercial litigation
* Experience with third-party defense work
* Insurance defense or civil litigation defense background
preferred
* Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
* Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
* Professional communication skills with clients, courts, and
opposing counsel
* Ability to work independently while also contributing to a
collaborative team environment
* Prior experience handling depositions, hearings, mediations,
and motion practice
* Trial preparation experience
* Experience with insurance defense, general liability, premises
liability, construction, transportation, or related civil defense
matters
* Strong client reporting experience
