Overview

A highly regarded North Carolina law firm is seeking a Business
Litigation Associate to join its growing litigation practice in
either Greensboro or Raleigh. This is an excellent opportunity
for a motivated attorney to work on sophisticated business
disputes and complex commercial litigation matters while
receiving hands-on responsibility and mentorship from experienced
litigators.

The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years of litigation experience
and a strong interest in handling complex business disputes from
inception through resolution. The firm represents corporations,
financial institutions, businesses, and other commercial clients
in a wide variety of litigation matters throughout North Carolina
and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

* Represent clients in complex business and commercial litigation
matters pending in state and federal courts.
* Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, discovery
responses, and other litigation-related documents.
* Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda regarding
substantive and procedural legal issues.
* Manage all phases of written discovery, including document
review and production.
* Participate in and assist with depositions, hearings,
mediations, and court appearances.
* Assist with case strategy, risk assessment, and litigation
planning.
* Work directly with partners and clients on ongoing litigation
matters.
* Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel,
experts, and third-party witnesses.
* Assist with trial preparation, witness preparation, exhibit
organization, and pretrial filings.
* Manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced
environment.

Qualifications

* J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
* Active membership in good standing with the North Carolina Bar.
* 2–4 years of business litigation, commercial litigation, or
complex civil litigation experience.
* Experience drafting motions, briefs, discovery requests, and
legal memoranda.
* Experience handling discovery and participating in depositions.
* Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
* Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines independently.
* Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal communication
skills.
* Strong academic credentials required.
