Estate Planning Counsel — Hybrid | Union County, NJ
A premier boutique estate planning law firm with over 35 years of
experience serving high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth
families is seeking an Estate Planning Counsel (Of Counsel) to
join its team. The firm is known nationally for its
sophisticated, tax-efficient planning strategies, white-glove
client service, and long-standing relationships with prominent
families.
With offices in Union County, New Jersey and New York City, the
firm has been recognized multiple times as a finalist for
Boutique Estate Planning Firm of the Year by the International
Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. This role offers
hybrid flexibility, with the ability to work from home 2–3 days
per week, and the opportunity to counsel individuals with
$50,000,000 to $100,000,000+ in net worth.
Key Responsibilities
* Meet with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients to
understand planning goals and long-term wealth-transfer
objectives.
* Design, draft, and implement sophisticated estate planning
structures, including wills, trusts, multi-generational trusts,
partnerships, and charitable entities.
* Develop and execute advanced tax-optimized strategies tailored
to complex family and business needs.
* Advise clients on estate tax planning, charitable giving, and
business-succession planning.
* Manage a diverse caseload with a high level of independence and
responsiveness.
* Mentor junior attorneys and paralegals.
* Support business-development efforts to help grow the firm’s
client base.
Qualifications
* Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
* Active New Jersey Bar (New York a plus)
* Minimum of 5 years of sophisticated estate planning experience,
ideally serving high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients.
* Strong drafting skills and deep knowledge of tax-efficient
wealth-transfer planning.
* Excellent communication, analytical, and client-service skills.
