Job Description

Our law firm client in Atlanta, GA. is seeking a motivated
Associate Attorney to join its growing Medical Malpractice
Defense practice in Atlanta. This role offers hands-on litigation
experience, significant client interaction, and the opportunity
to work on complex, high-exposure cases alongside seasoned trial
attorneys.

Key Responsibilities

* Defend physicians, hospitals, and healthcare professionals in
medical malpractice and professional liability matters
* Manage cases from inception through resolution, including trial
preparation and trial participation
* Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and
discovery
* Take and defend depositions, including expert witnesses and
medical professionals
* Analyze medical records and collaborate with expert witnesses
* Handle hearings, mediations, and court appearances
* Advise clients on litigation strategy, risk exposure, and case
developments

Practice Areas & Exposure

* Medical standard of care and causation
* Expert witness development and cross-examination
* Informed consent and peer review issues
* Statutes of limitation and repose
* Emergency medicine liability standards
* Tort reform and damages caps

Requirements:

* J.D. from an accredited law school
* Licensed and in good standing with the Georgia Bar
* 5–6+ years of litigation experience (medical malpractice,
insurance defense, or healthcare litigation preferred)
* Strong writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
* Deposition and courtroom experience a must
* Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment
