JOB DESCRIPTION
Our client is seeking a skilled Litigation Legal Administrative
Assistant with 3–5 years of Medical Malpractice litigation
experience to support a 3-5 attorneys. The ideal candidate will
be organized, proactive, and capable of managing a busy
litigation calendar, court filings, and administrative support
with minimal supervision.
Experience in defense-side is strongly preferred but will
consider plaintiff as well
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare, revise, and proofread legal documents, including
pleadings, discovery, correspondence, and court filings
* File documents in state and federal courts using e-filing
systems (e.g., CM/ECF, local court portals)
* Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, hearings,
depositions, and court appearances
* Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits,
binders, and court documents
* Maintain and organize client files (both electronic and hard
copy) in compliance with firm procedures
* Track deadlines and ensure timely filings and service of legal
documents
* Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel,
experts, and opposing counsel
* Perform general administrative duties, including time entry,
expense reports, travel arrangements, and phone/email management
* Covering receptionist duties during lunch or when receptionist
is on vacation – alternating schedules with other LAAs at the
firm
Qualifications:
* 3–5 years of recent litigation experience in a law firm
environment dealing with Medical Malpractice, Professional
Liability, Insurance Defense and/or Employment Law (EEOC)
* Prior experience supporting multiple professionals, including
attorneys and paralegals
* Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures and court rules
(state and federal)
* Proficiency with legal software and tools (e.g., MS Office,
Adobe Acrobat, document management systems, e-filing portals)
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to
manage competing deadlines
* Discretion, professionalism, and the ability to work well in a
team-oriented environment
